Dear valued community,
At Dirty Ol’ Baxter Cooks, your feedback matters. Your experiences, thoughts, and suggestions help us improve and better serve you! Whether it’s a product you love, an idea you have, or an experience you’d like to share, we’re here, eagerly listening.
When I started cooking for myself, I found out that not having appropriate equipment is very frustrating. Trying to stir-fry or make paella in a frying pan, instead of a wok or a paella pan, never seems to work quite right. Most of my cooking is centered around dishes that I remember from childhood, meaning middle American dishes. As a result, most of the equipment I am presenting on this site represents the middle American cooking experience.
Please suggest equipment (cookware, utensils, gadgets or small appliances) that you find helpful, but missing from my selection. I will try to locate and offer them for your use.
The goal is to reduce frustration and trauma in the food preparation process and increase enjoyment in the social/consumption result.
Your feedback fuels our commitment to excellence, allowing us to create products and services that exceed your expectations. It’s your voice that drives our innovation and growth.
Take a moment to share your thoughts in the comments below or feel free to message us privately. We appreciate your support and look forward to hearing from each and every one of you!
Thank you for being an essential part of our journey. 🚀✨
Are you a beginner chef who feels intimidated by your kitchen? You are not alone! Cooking can be daunting, especially if you are just starting. But, believe me, cooking is easy, and you can be a master chef in no time. With a little patience, practice, and a few essential tips, you can be cooking delicious and healthy meals at home in no time. In this post, we’ll share some beginner’s tips that will guide you through your culinary journey.
Invest in Good Kitchen Tools:
One of the essential things that every chef needs is a good set of kitchen tools. Invest in good-quality knives, cutting boards, spatulas, and measuring cups and spoons. They are a one-time investment, and they will make your cooking much easier and efficient.
Start with Simple Recipes:
If you are a beginner, start with simple recipes that require fewer ingredients and easy to follow instructions. Master the basics of cooking, such as boiling, sautéing, frying, and baking, before moving onto challenging dishes. Once you have learned the basics, you can experiment with new recipes and techniques.
Organize your Kitchen:
One of the most important things that you can do to make your cooking easier and more enjoyable is to keep your kitchen organized. Keep your spices and herbs in one place, your cutting boards and knives in another, and your pots and pans in a separate cabinet. This way, you will be able to find everything you need quickly and easily.
Always Read the Recipe Before You Start Cooking:
Before you start cooking, read the recipe from beginning to end. Make sure you have all the ingredients and equipment you need, and follow the instructions closely. Cooking can be a delicate balance that requires precise measurements and timing. So, don’t rush and take your time to prepare the dish.
Learn to Tweak Recipes:
One of the fun things about cooking is that you can tweak recipes to suit your taste. If a recipe calls for a specific ingredient that you don’t like, substitute it with something else. Add extra seasoning or herbs to enhance the flavor of the dish. Don’t be afraid to experiment and make the dish your own.
Cooking is a rewarding and practical skill that everyone should learn. With these essential tips for beginner chefs, you can start your culinary journey with confidence. Remember to invest in good kitchen tools, start with simple recipes, organize your kitchen, read the recipe before you start cooking, and learn to tweak recipes to suit your taste. Happy cooking!
